Sanofi will sell 51% of Opella to CD&R, 1% to BPI Via Reuters

PARIS (Reuters) – France will take a stake Sanofi (NASDAQ:) through the Public Investment Bank (BPI), Finance Minister Antoine Armand said on Sunday, confirming the information of the Le Figaro newspaper, that the American private equity firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) is to acquire a 51% stake in the company producing one of the most painkillers sold in France, Dolipran.

The plan for the Bank of Public Investments (BPI) to acquire a 1% stake in Opella for approximately EUR 150 million ($162.98 million) was established in a tripartite agreement between Sanofi, the French state and CD&R and was approved by Sanofi’s board of directors on Sunday – the newspaper reported.
