The emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transcended its status as a mere buzzword, evolving into a tangible force shaping our technological landscape. Projects like ChatGPT and Dall-E have garnered significant attention from industry giants such as Microsoft and Google, intensifying the competition to lead in this domain. Amidst this rapid race, decentralised entities like SingularityNet, Ocean Protocol, and Fetch.AI have emerged as frontrunners, advocating for universal access to AI.

As part of this collaboration, Fetch.AI’s FET token, Ocean Protocol’s OCEAN token, and SingularityNet’s AGIX token will merge into a single ASI token. Dr. Ben Goertzel, CEO and Founder of SingularityNet, emphasised the importance of decentralisation in AI development, stating that AGI and ASI should not be monopolised by any single entity. He expressed confidence that the alliance would empower them to challenge the dominance of Big Tech in the AI realm.

Led by visionaries such as Ben Goertzel, Humayun Sheikh, Bruce Pon, and Trent McConaghy, the ASI Alliance will operate as a collaborative ecosystem while maintaining the autonomy of its constituent entities. The alliance aims to leverage the growing influence of AI and combat the monopolistic control exerted by Big Tech.

Furthermore, the ASI Alliance envisions creating a decentralised AI infrastructure to transform closed-source AI systems into open networks, fostering collaboration towards common goals. Pending approval from the respective communities, the migration to ASI tokens will occur with specified conversion rates for each token.

Bruce Pon, CEO & Co-Founder of Ocean Protocol, believes that this amalgamation will establish a dominant force in AGI research, applications, and commercialization. He highlights the ASI token’s role as a catalyst for aligning incentives across the ecosystem and facilitating transactions within the machine economy.

In essence, the merger between SingularityNet, Ocean Protocol, and Fetch.AI represents a pivotal moment in the democratisation of AI, challenging the status quo and paving the way for a more inclusive and collaborative future in artificial intelligence.
