“I tell you that we are at the beginning of the election campaign. The PNL will advance its candidate to the second round and win the presidential election. I have faith in the PNL and the capacity of the active party, we will see the results”, replied Nicolae Ciucă.
The PNL president also said that probably neither candidate was willing to withdraw, referring to Elena Lasconi and Ludovic Orban.
“Absolutely the same situation (Elena Lasconi no) I don’t think any candidate wants to withdraw, ask Ludovic Orban too,” Ciucă said.
Nicolae Ciucă explained why he wanted to meet Elena Lasconi.
“Let me explain to him how he should approach issues that he is not good at,” Ciucă said, specifically touching on security and foreign policy issues. he said.
USR leader Elena Lasconi has proposed holding opinion polls that would gauge right-wing candidates and leave only the top-placed candidates in the race. He says he is ready to withdraw from the race if he finishes below Nicolae Ciucă.
