Luganodes adds support for Stacks, becomes Signer of Nakamoto upgrade

Luganodes, a high-end blockchain infrastructure provider, is not only adding support for the Stacks Layer but will also be a Signer and day-one supporter of the upcoming Nakamoto upgrade, per the latest information shared with Finbold.

As a Signer, Luganodes will serve as a validator for Stacks blocks and will help with transactions of the Stack Bitcoin (sBTC). It hopes it will, in this capacity, help boost the security and decentralization of the network while offering institutions a better way to explore the Bitcoin (BTC) DeFi space.

Commenting on the matter, Anuj Shankar, the CEO of Luganodes, expressed his enthusiasm both for Stacks and for sBTC:

We’re excited to integrate with Stacks, Luganodes envisions sBTC as a cornerstone in the growing Bitcoin economy. As an sBTC Signer and Stacking Node Operator, we’re committed to empowering institutional token holders. Luganodes is proud to play a role in establishing sBTC as a preferred asset for Bitcoin-first applications, offering a user-friendly experience for signers in the Bitcoin L2 ecosystem.

In turn, Mitchell Cuevas, Interim Executive Director at the Stacks Foundation, stated that Luganodes’ participation is a significant boon for Bitcoiner due to, among other reasons, its White Label services and a significant institutional roster.

Luganodes’ hopes for Stacks and Bitcoin

Given that Luganodes sees Bitcoin as a cornerstone of the entire decentralized finance space, it hopes that its support for the Stacks Layer will help it unlock its full potential primarily by boosting transaction speed and cost-effectiveness while maintaining absolute security.

It views the release of sBTC and the Nakamoto upgrade as a crucial stepping stone toward those goals and hopes that providing its blockchain infrastructure services to Stacks, in addition to serving as Signer, will help the Layer offer 100% non-custodial options for institutions and further strengthen the ecosystem.
