Dora Factory announces gas fee airdrop for Cosmos stakers

Dora Factory, a decentralized governance technology and public goods funding platform, has announced a new gas fee airdrop of its native token, DORA, to all Cosmos (ATOM) stakers, according to the info disclosed to Finbold on June 6.

Expected to mobilize over one million eligible addresses, the initiative is set to jumpstart the largest Minimum Anti Collusion Infrastructure (MACI) voting round in history.

Empowering the Cosmos Hub ecosystem

On June 5, ATOM stakers across the Cosmos Hub received DORA tokens, which marked a significant milestone, as the DORA token underpins Dora Vota, a decentralized governance application chain developed with the Cosmos source development kit (SDK).

However, the new airdrop is not just a distribution of tokens — it’s a call to action for the Cosmos community.

Known for its commitment to decentralized governance, Cosmos invites the community to partake in a democratic experiment focused on public goods funding.

Participants can use ATOM to vote for and donate to public goods projects, support early-stage developers, and influence the distribution of an 80,000 ATOM and $200,000 USD Coin (USDC) matching pool across ten rounds of AEZ Quadratic Funding and MACI voting.

Advancing democratic governance

The campaign is also an experiment aimed at harnessing community power to support public goods and promising nascent developers.

The quadratic funding mechanism ensures that even small contributions from community members have a significant impact, promoting a more equal distribution of resources.

MACI privacy voting

Dora Factory is introducing MACI (Minimal Anti-Collusion Infrastructure) privacy voting, enhancing the security and anonymity of voters.

This allows community members to express their opinions on public goods without revealing their identities.

Those with more ATOM staked will have more voting power, or Voice Credits.

A $20,000 USDC prize pool will be awarded to selected teams through this privacy-preserving voting process.

To facilitate widespread participation, Dora Factory will implement Dora Vota’s native Gas Station feature to cover all voting fees for the MACI voting round.
