DAKAR (Reuters) – A Delta Airlines (NYSE:) Boeing (NYSE:) 767 plane bound for New York made an emergency stop on Saturday due to a technical incident at Senegal’s Blaise Diagne International Airport, the West African country’s transport ministry said.
The pilot managed to safely stop the plane, which was carrying 216 passengers, and reported no injuries, the ministry said in a statement.
“The plane performed an acceleration maneuver during take-off, followed by an emergency stop due to a technical incident,” it said.
The incident came a day after the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said it would begin a new safety review of Boeing in January over the in-flight failure.
She added that Senegal’s national civil aviation agency and its Office of Investigations and Analysis would investigate the incident.
