BOSTON (Reuters) – A Massachusetts judge has rejected Meta Platforms’ (NASDAQ:) motion to dismiss a state lawsuit alleging the social media company intentionally implemented features on its Instagram platform to addict young users and deceive the public about the risks posed by the product endanger the mental health of teenagers.
Suffolk County Superior Court Judge Peter Krupp in Boston, in a decision made public Friday, rejected Meta’s motion to dismiss Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell’s claims, saying it violated state consumer protection law and caused a public nuisance.
