BRICS is not anti-Western, but “non-Western”, says Russian President Putin

Moscow: A few days before BRICS Summit in his country, president of Russia Vladimir Putin on Friday, he assured that the group is not “anti-Western”, but simply “non-Western”, also recalling that this is the position of the member state of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a visit Russia on October 22-23 to participate in the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan.

During a conversation with a group of foreign journalists, Putin said that the doors of BRICS are not closed to new members. He said that as the grouping grows, even non-member countries will benefit economically.

He accused the United States of trying to stop the development China. “It’s like telling the sun not to rise,” he said.

Asked if there was a timetable for ending the war in Ukraine, Putin said that establishing such a timetable would be difficult and counterproductive. He said Russia would win.
