Montenegrin Court Approves Extradition of Do Kwon: Legal Battle Reignited

The Montenegrin court again approved the extradition of Kwon Do-hyeong, a key figure in the cryptocurrency Terra Luna crash, reigniting the legal battle surrounding his extradition. This decision comes after the local Supreme Court invalidated the previous ruling, necessitating a fresh review of the extradition process.

According to reports from local daily newspapers, the Podgorica High Court in Montenegro has greenlit Kwon’s extradition, stating that the legal criteria for extradition to both Korea and the United States have been met.

However, only Justice Minister Andrej Milovic will pass the final decision.

“The Podgorica High Court in Montenegro decided to permit the extradition of Mr Kwon, saying that the legal requirements for extradition ‘to Korea and the United States’ were met,” the local daily newspapers Bjesti and Pobeda reported.

On the other hand, Kwon’s legal team has the option to appeal within three days. There is speculation looming that Kwon will possibly be extradited to the United States, given Minister Milovic’s expressed preference for such an outcome.

Kwon’s journey, from his disappearance after the Terra Luna crash to his arrest in Montenegro via the UAE and Serbia, has been a legal drama to catch on!

The Montenegro Minister Milovic’s comments regarding the United States as a crucial foreign policy partner might highlight the increased possibility of being extradited to the United States.
