Middle-sized/small-sized motorcycle must be at least 15 years and 10 months old (2 months before your 16th birthday). Large-sized motorcycle must by at least 17 years and 10 months old (2 months before your 18th birthday).

To get a Japanese motorbike licence an individual must take an aptitude test and pass written and practical exams.
