Russian air strikes on Ukraine’s Kharkiv injured at least 15 people Reuters

(Reuters) – Russian forces attacked Ukraine’s second-largest city Kharkiv and surrounding areas on Sunday with guided aerial bombs, injuring at least 15 people, Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Synehubov said.

Syniehubov, writing on the Telegram messaging application, said the attack damaged two residential buildings and windows of an infrastructure facility, two supermarkets, a cafe, 21 kiosks and a shopping mall.

The governor said that among the injured in Kharkov were four Interior Ministry employees.

Since Russia launched a full-scale invasion in February 2022, the eastern city has become a frequent target of Russian air attacks.

Syniehubov said Russian forces severely damaged a five-story apartment building in Kivsharivka, a small town near Kupyansk, east of Kharkov.

Regional police chief Volodymyr Tymoshko said three residents were killed in the attack. The woman was rescued overnight, but further efforts were hampered by ongoing Russian attacks, regional authorities said.
